Oh man oh man. I had SO MUCH FUN AT TCAF.
First I met KATIE TIEDRICH who makes Awkward Zombie. Oh man I’ve been following her comics for like.. 5 years??? Something like that. And I was so excited to meet her. Of course I was way too shy and stuff but SHE SHOOK MY HAND AND I WAS SO HAPPY. So I bought one of her books and she drew herself in it and Norrin was there too which was really cool. She was a really awesome person.
AND THEN I MET GIGI DG WHICH WAS ALSO A REALLY AWESOME EXPERIENCE she seemed kinda shy but she was really cute and awesome and lovely! uvu I bought her fashion book but forgot to get a doodle from her until later.
Later after lunch I went back to their tables and gave them drawings because they’re really cool people I look up to!! I felt really good about that, though I wish I had proper drawing utensils. I only really had a pen at the time (I’m awful in permanent mediums like that).
Then I met ABBY HOWARD and gosh she was lovely too. I didn’t realize she was at TCAF until I saw her table and so I got a sketch from her and gave her a $10 tip and got the book she was selling and some stickers. That was pretty great. I will cherish that drawing forever. It’s so cute aaaaah.
AND THEN because I was wearing my Catbug t-shirt the guy who illustrates some of the Bravest Warriors comics (Mike Holmes) pointed me out and I’m like HELL YEEE. And so I went over and talked to him for a little bit and then because I like comics I bought all 5 of the ones on the table there. He gave me a deal for them too because he liked my shirt! And then he signed them and drew a catbug on one of them which was REALLY awesome!
And then someone else I wasn’t expecting was there. JEFF SMITH THE GUY WHO MAKES THE BONE COMICS. Those were comics I loved and read as a little kid. I never really got to read them all because I never had enough money for them, so I was kind of sad about that. But they were selling the ENTIRE COLLECTION OF THEM. I bought the black and white ones (which were much cheaper) and got it signed! It was a really cool experience.
I’m so happy I went to TCAF I had a really awesome time. I’ll post some more pics of my TCAF loot since they wouldn’t all fit into this photoset.
