PLEASE WATCH THIS

Then read this and possibly sign this.

My tribe isn’t federally recognized, so we’re basically invisible to the government (you can read about that here). This dam raise is a super huge threat to our culture; stopping it from happening is really important.

IF YOU CAN’T SIGN THE PETITION, PLEASE AT LEAST REBLOG THIS POST. IT WOULD MEAN A LOT TO ME AND MY PEOPLE. LIKE, PLEASE.

This is unforgivable. These people have already had most of their land flooded and stolen from them, and now we want to take more. I know a lot of people are afraid of water shortages in California right now, but this dam will not help. Dams don’t create water, they just store it, and they store it in a way that can actually cause water to be lost due to evaporation. We have no right to take these people’s homes and history and culture. We didn’t have the right in the first place. There is nothing okay about this.

Aang deals with cultural appropriation - (x)

As usual, we have an sjw post full of notes and an inability to tell the whole story. I mean, why mention something that could invalidate your post in the first place?

You forgot, OP, to mention that Aang got mad and was at a time in his mentality where he thought that the four nations should remain seperate and should not mix. (That’s racist/nationalist, remember?) It was Katara who had to remind him that, if that were true, they couldn’t be together.

Aang later realizes that he was wrong and being fucking selfish. And guess what? He goes on to not only accept them, but also go as far as welcoming them into his culture and teach them about it.

I love this, and I love SJW arguments being blown to pieces

But keep in mind they also apologized when Aang pointed out their disrespect to his culture, and refrained from doing anything that made light of their beliefs or disrespected them, like getting SACRED airbending master tattoos when they were all non-benders from that point on, and embraced his culture in the proper way only after listening to his very valid opinions and anger at how they were treating his way of life as a literal fan club.

i drew a bunch of elves of color!!

This post reminds me of something that happened a few years back.

I once served as art director for a project where the illustration spec called for characters of a variety of races (in the real-world sense, not the Dungeons & Dragons sense - though the latter was involved as well).

We had one particular artist, tasked with drawing a series of elves, who didn’t quite seem to get what that meant. Their output was basically “white elf”, “another white elf”, “white elf with a tan”, “white elf looking a bit pale”, “yet another white elf”, etc.

When this was pointed out, they were like “oh, yeah, now I get it - I’ll totally fix that with my next piece”.

They proceeded to turn in a picture of a blue elf.

In the end, we had to provide specific quotas for specific levels of racial representation in order to get the point across. It all worked out in the end, but it’s stuck with me ever since that this artist examined the original spec, looked at our feedback, and came to the conclusion a blue elf was more plausible than a black one.

In conclusion: this is awesome.

Read that last paragraph as many times as you need to.

I love to see children who are so delicate and gentle with animals.  It warms my heart amidst a sea of brats pulling cats’ tails and getting whacked.

Also JESUS THAT’S A SNUGGLY CHICKEN.

I love how she reaches up on her tippy toes to snuggle into his shoulder.

To be more exact, that’s a hen. Which is the female. This is likely not his first encounter with her. My grandpa had chickens and hens, and if you visit them frequently like this they develop affection to you. I would know, because I sat in the chicken coop alot. The hens get a small maternal kick, and come to cuddle you because she wants to keep you warm, like she would do with her chicks. This means the boy has spent alot of time with her, and that just makes it more heart warming.
